Dhamja Festival of Devotion


As Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, the combined manifestation of Supreme Personality of Godhead Krishna and Radha, had predicted his name to be heard and chanted in every corners of the world, Prabhupada’s ISKCON has been launching genuine Krishna Consciousness movement worldwide for the same. Renowned by the name of Hare Krishna movement worldwide, this Krishna consciousness movement has been slowly and slowly progressing in Nepal as well. Having its central temple in Budhanilkantha Kathmandu for Nepal and its city centre at Tripureshwor (VISA) ISKCON have been conducting Harinam Sankritan, the congregational chanting the holy name of Krishna all over Nepal. From 1st to 3rd Magh the program was held in Baglung as well. 
In Dhamja VDC of Baglung district its popularity has grown up rapidly. There are many devotees. Devotees chant Hare Krishna Mahamantra (Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare) regularly and follow four regulative principles of religion. Sponsored by devotees themselves (Especially HG Bimal Prabhu and HG Subash Prabhu), the program was conducted in Majhkatera village. Kritan, Prasadam distribution, Bhagavad-Gita class and cultural programs were the main attraction of the festival. Devotees distributed the Prasadam , the sacred food to the villagers as well. Following days Sankritan was held in Laxmi Higher Secondary school which is the only higher secondary school of VDC. Students were really appreciating and taking part in the Sankritan.  Then devotees team conducted in other villages of the district as well. Finally they not only did Sankritan but also distributed Bhagavad-Gita in Baglung and Beni .

Sometimes people raise the question, “Are you Hindu?” They not only raise the questions but they even conclude that we are Hindu as we talk of Krishna frequently in this blog. Think for a moment  to make the conclusion……. Are you really happy? What does your heart says ,listen. With more and more technologies  and facilities , are you really getting happiness. You don’t have to walk to go from one place to another. Sophisticated vehicles will do it for you. You don’t have to work , machine will do it for you ; you don’t have to do anything yourself machines will do it for you. You just have to enjoy various televisions show, enjoy with internet, enjoy  with food , sex and so on. Still one question for you are you really happy?
